Parry Sound Issues With NNDSB

MPP Informs Minister of Education About Parry Sound Issues With NNDSB

Education Minister Laurel Broten has been made aware of what is happening in the Near North District School Board.  On Friday afternoon, our MPP Norm Miller sent a letter to the minister explaining how the decision to send grade seven and eight students to the high school next year was made in secrecy and without public consultation.  The letter also outlines how the meeting last Monday created more questions than answers and the fact that Board Chair Kathy Hewitt and Director of Education Geof Botting left after just an hour.  Miller is asking the minister to direct the Near North District School Board to rescind this decision until a proper Accommodation Review Committee (ARC) process has been done.  The next meeting of the Board of Trustees is tomorrow and a group of concerned parents are travelling to North Bay to voice their concerns.
